Our House Clearance Step by Step Guide

After you call us for a free no obligation quote we will answer any preliminary questions then organise a mutually agreeable time to view the clearance in question. In the mean time the customer is guided to our e-brochure which will give the customer an idea of the costs involved in clearing a property legally and within the current law.

Once we meet at the property, we will record the items directed to be cleared, at this point the customer is advised to let us know clearly what the customer will be removing prior to the clearance, or if the items are to stay at the property. Items that are fitted and that are to be cleared will need to be discussed at the time of the quote. For example, plumbed in appliances / gas appliances as well as furniture (fitted wardrobes ect). 

We then return to the office and refer back to the recording and carefully go through each room, and break down the costs of the whole clearance, such as trade waste, labour, company costs and extra charges such as double mattresses, fridges / freezers ect. Items that incur extra charges can be fount in the itemisation of costs within the e brochure. We will attempt to email over the quote that same day depending on work load, we will the text the customer to verify that it has been received. 

Items purchased, are bought at 40% of resale to the trade, however we can give  advice on how best to sell your items, as the customer will always get more money selling privately. 

When the customer agrees to continue with the clearance a 30% booking deposit is required, CHC understand the complications in selling or organising a property for rental so we try to accommodate as much as humanly possible therefore the customer may change the date with 48 hours notice, customers can change dates up to 3 times. 

Where possible we try to start the clearance as early as 7.30am, however again we accommodate when we can. Once at the property, and during the covid crisis we would ask the customer not to be inside the property for the sake of staff as well as the customer. On completion we will either meet up with the customer or take comprehensive images of the completed clearance including cupboards and draws and send these via Whatsapp. Once the customer is happy, the balance will need to be paid on the day of completion unless organised 48 hours prior to the clearance being started. This is due to the waste remaining the responsibility of the customer until balance has been paid and will only be recycled at this point. The vans will need to be empty for the next day. 

The balance is to be paid on the day of completion unless otherwise agreed. On balance payment a complete receipt will be emailed over. Job complete!!
